F8 vs. F1000

Thinking of snow checking one of these two sleds. I am looking for feedback as to what may be the better sled for my needs. We basically trail ride, and do very little lake riding. I love my 05 F 7, but like the sounds of the F1000 snow pro and the additional power and torque if offers. Does anyone know if we are going to be sacrificing any handling with the 1000 sno pro over the 8 sno pro. (such as the rev 800 vs. mach) AC shows a 15 lb. difference between the two which doesn't bother me. Other than pricing, does anyone see any drawbacks to the F 1000? Any feedback would be appreciated! :site:

Dealer came back after riding a F1000... HE said that there is virtually NO difference riding a F8 vs. an F1000 (his personal sled is an 03 F7 SP)... but then again, he didn't actually ride an F8... He jumped from the F5 to an F1000 and said he couldn't tell the differnce in handling.

I wonder how hard the F8 would be to start over the F10? I know my ZR900 is an arm stretcher when it's cold.

The F8 is your sled, a little lighter, a little less expensive with plenty of power for your stated use. If the F10 is anything like the Mach Z it won't be that quick to rev up and in any distance of a 1/4 mile or less you won't be giving up anything. On the other hand if you are going for the macho thing and want to show off the big dog or you are a long distance lake racer than the F10 will be your sled. Hoipe this helps.

F 10 ,,, its counterballanced, f8 is not ,,and is faster even in 1000 ft vs the f8,,, and in 3000 ft its in a differant zip code,,so reving up is not a problem , so with a smoother motor and most likely a longer motor life,,its the way to go if you dont mind a higher insurance price,,and spending more on gas,,, but thats just my 2 cents oh and dont for get the 4 tower clutch no more belt slipping eather...

I heard that the F10 is not counterbalanced, but is smooth. Do you have a picture of the F10 motor? I don't see a counterbalancer in either motor in your picture.

talked to a dealer that rode both in w.y. iho the 800 seemed more refined than the 1000. 800 had lots of low end torque and smooth power. plus seemed better on gas than the f7. said the 1000 had lots of stuff, but also had alot of vibration. his hands were numb after riding for a short distance. just thought i'd pass this along.

In the pride mag it states the 1000 has a counterbalancer I think. If it does it shouldn't vibe to much then unless it starts out bad to begin with.
