Quick question.. got a new shaft for the starter but it didnít come with the dust cover on it. Is it that important? The old one wonít go on unless you split the plastic and put it back on and glue it . It just a loose fit that the shaft spins in only on start up? Leave it off or put it on? $35 new , wasnít cheap

That drive is a giant, Mother-Of-all Speedometer cable, it's steel, real steel and it can rust (as you probably found out. And that cover stops it from getting hit with snow and debris. You can cover it just about as good with electrical tape

Owning a Thundercat is like having a totally hot wife..... All of your friends want to see it, feel it and check it out..... They all want to know what it is like to ride it, but if they only knew how much time and money it takes to keep one up, they would call you a fool!

"Of all the 850 vs Sidewinders/Thundercat/ZR 9000's; you are the first I have ever heard that beat one. I know the 850 is strong but it's down 30 hp from the turbo sleds.
I have a low slung fully built( by a well know engine builder) 3 cylinder 800 cc that made multiple dyno pulls over 200 hp on a calibrated Land and Sea dyno and I barely pull my buddy on his stock Thundercat. And I do have video."

Things on NASA headphones that are not good;
"That supposed to be like that?" "What the hell was that?" "Did you just pee in your spacesuit"

No, I split the old plastic tube and put it on the shaft and used some plastic bins glue thatís works great. Like you said I donít want to get oil and dirt on that flex drive shaft . It would shoot grease and oil everywhere and over time snap off . Going now to look at the 03 zr 900 frame my buddy got for me. Someone stole the chrome windshield off one of my other sleds that I have stored. Have too see what else is missing

I seen those black ones. There easy to get. The colored ones are hard to find . Was looking for ZR3 red and orange, yellow. Thanks anyways for looking them up. I ask a dealer why there hard to find besides the sled is old .. he side the colored pans where accessories add onís and options. Thanks

I had a brand new orange one I bought and it didn't fit worth a ****. I couldnt figure out why. Maybe being such old stock the material expanded or contracted, ended up tossing it. It was no good for anything, couldn't make it fit at all.

I heard that from a few people that there where too big or things didnít line up. I picked a red one up from auburn6887 . I just had to pre drill some holes but made it work, now looking for the bar pad and snow flap different colors, the only issue I have yet is to test the tps carb switch. I had to buy anther set of carbs because someone used silicone too put in the pilot jet in the stock ones. And these other carbs I got looks like the carb switch has been moved a little bit.
