P0562 code with engine light - 2014 550

2014 550 LTD getting error code P0562 with engine light flashing when key is turned on. machine ran fine a week ago, now no start. I have removed and charged battery and still getting code. I replaced battery a year ago as well so it should be good..... Going to load test both batteries that i have to rule that out. I was having issues with the battery losing charge earlier this year and usually hooking up the tender worked, never had any code until now

Is there something else i should be checking?

What is causing the batteries to lose charge? I do not have any accessories other than a winch which is rarely used...

I don't really want to take into shop if it is something that i can do in the garage. ATV is always stored inside as well

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

So.. p0562 is low voltage code. You'll always have a voltage draw due to your POD. The pod itself should not cause the fault but a bad battery will. Regardless, what else do you have installed that might be pulling the battery down? Winch? Lights? Radio?

no accessories other than winch which is rarely used. This issue seems to happen after its sat unused for a week or so. I can go out with it working and stop and start all day. The code is the new part which i did find online was low voltage but the battery is reading fully charged. Load test is next.....to me it seems like something is draining the battery while it sits in the garage. When i turn the key you can hear the fuel pump priming and then you can hear it slowly start losing power....then code. Clicks when trying to start. This is the second battery i have put in so I'm suspect it is the battery...but i do have bad luck haha

If it's your second battery then you have a issue. Put a meter on the battery, record the voltage then start disconnecting things watching the voltage as you do it. If you see a jump in volts..
Thats your issue. Start by just disconnecting the battery leads and see what happens.

some progress.....load tested both batteries, found the one I had in the machine was weak (although it could have been because it wasn't fully charged) the spare from the bench was ok. Charged both over the last few nights. Put the good one in and it fired up, getting good charge at battery when revved. let it sit in the machine overnight and came back and checked voltage at battery, same as the the day prior 12.4-12.5 volts. Just got back from a quick rip to test it, still getting good charge at battery when revved, seems to be holding a charge so far. I'm going to test it again in the morning and again tomorrow evening and see if the voltage drops at all. Having the bad battery in the machine could explain the issues, just seemed odd that it worked fine one day, dead the next. I am going to load test the original battery again now that its 100% charged and see if it is salvageable. Probably ride over the weekend and make sure things are still good. Ill keep you posted

What brand & type of battery? You may need to look at getting a new one.

Lol, Iím still running the stock batteries in both my 2016 Alterra 550 XTs. Use them almost every day if not every other. I finally had to charge one twice now if it sat for a couple days. They read 12.1-12.3 in the morning!
