Clicking with lockers

Ok so, I have a 2002 AC 400 4x4. I removed the front differential and swapped it with a 2005 650 front diff. I was able to keep the mechanical actuator off the old diff instead of the $120 electric actuator. When I swapped the diff I changed the right inner cv joint (that goes in diff) for the locker ring. When I installed the locker cable, which I am not completely sure how to adjust, and locked the diff it felt like it would lock. When I try to turn with the lockers engaged, then and now, a popping noise occurs. I thought this could have been from the left axle inner cv, so I changed it with a 650 one. No matter how tight I set the cable it will still click and pop. Is this supposed to happen or do I have an issue elsewhere?

your axles all good? Did you make sure the gear ratio matched.. I thought the 650 would be a different gear ratio. Disconnect your cable and lock the diff by hand you will feel where it is locked and then you can adjust cable accordingly

The axles are fine, I changed both of the inboard (touching diff) cv joints. Both the spines matched pre and post change. According to the Service manual, for the 02 400, the ratio is 3.6 while the metal tag says 3.6. This problem only happens with the diff locked. Do yall think it is possible that the axle is too short and maybe pulling the right inner cv out far enough to not grab the locker splines enough?

So I gotta another update. I think it was a bad axle(s) because the left side decided to break tonight.

2002 Arctic Cat 400 4x4, 14" ITP SS 112 with 30x10x14 mud lites, 2" lift kit, 1" wheel stud converters, simple FM-Bluetooth radio, Badlands 2500 winch, coolant temperature gauge, front differential switch with lockers, and two 6" 94w led lightbars.

Did you use two different axles to make one that fit?

I used the original axles, which are 16-17 years old and have had 3478 miles on them, with new inner cv cups. I do feel it is worth mentioning that I have a 2in lift.
