I know that some people have modded the back panel from a '10 and up prowler and put between the seat and bed to keep the dust down. Do holes need to be cut for the ducts and the intake tube to pass through?
Do you notch the rear panel to clear the splash panels? Anyone have any pics of theirs?
I have an 06 with a full polycarbonate back window. Its mounted with very heavy self adhesive velcro. I mounted it on the inside of the rollbar not the outside.
Not sure on the price of that panel or the fit. However it would be much cheaper and easier to make one as mine reaches below my frame and seats on the inside. I did have to cutout the holes (slots) to clear the intakes. It saved a lot of cutting by putting it on the inside.
I have a 2009 XTX that I installed the panel on, I did cut several holes for the clutch air, but that was to clear my snorkels. The panel was a factory part and it cut down on heat, and dust. Also you can install a pre-filter using factory parts! It is almost a bolt in!
I've had the panel for a while, just now looking at putting it on.
Did you have to modify the splash panels, or cut the back panel to fit over them?
It looks like they changed the part numbers on them when they added the back panel.
Now you are trying to test my memory! LOL I did do some trimming, but I'm anal and have to have everything near perfect! Installing the panel did require some fitment, but all that was requires was several new self tapping screws, and minor trimming. It was well worth the effort.
