Shock Rebuild or Swap

Shock Rebuild or Swap-img_1365-rot.jpgHi Cat Fanciers,
I'm looking for advice for changing the front shocks, I have a:
'13 F1100 Turbo Sno Pro Limited with a track extension to 137" from 129" - 6400 miles
I have the stock Fox float 2 single chamber shocks and I'm wondering if take off shocks from a '15 HCR (part 3703-378) would work. The price is right and I'd have a low cost upgrade to Fox Float 3 EVOL's with the 2nd chamber. Just not sure the best way to verify the travel will work out. I'm set at 42.5" ski stance and the HCR is a 40", so that would move me a bit closer to the full extension.
Thanks for any info!

The RR is the stiffest setup that Cat has though isn't it? The dealer just told me to expect a stiffer shock going to piggyback, I wasn't expecting that answer.
Anyone have thoughts on that ?

The evol chamber is only for bottom out characteristics. Yes the rr was stiff. I could never get it to corner flat unless the air pressure was so high the front end didn't work on trail chop at all. Talked to a rebuilder about re-valving and was told that they could make them better. "But they will never ride like a coil spring". From my experience it was money well spent.

Thanks Joe,
but I went for a low cost option, some used coil shocks from a '15 Cat, F1100 non turbo. I have someone checking them out to be sure they don't need anything before installing.
