2016 M8000 Wont Start

Hi Everyone I am hoping I can get some help. This sounds like a common issue with these sleds so I hope people know how to fix it. The first time my sled would not start it sat in the trailer when it was -25F over night. I was able to get it to start by holding the throttle wide open and pulled and it finally went. Now this time 1 week later I was up in the back country shut it off to let it cool down and it would not start again, finally it went, nothing seemed to make a difference throttle wide open with key and kill switch on or off. About an hour later we had to cut a pretty good side hill I was about 6-7 rpms and I accidentally hit the kill switch. It would not start we sat there for over an hour pulling like crazy, playing with the throttle, kill switch and key but NOTHING worked. We finally pulled a plug had spark and it was bone dry! so we put some gas down the cylinder and boom she fired right up. It ran ok the rest of the day had a weird sputter in the mid range but it got me home. So I pulled it in the shop put it on the stand reved it up to 6500 rpm and shut the kill switch off while holding the throttle and what do you know it wont start again and the cylinders are bone dry of fuel and no matter how many times you pull on her it wont inject fuel so WTF!! Its a brand new sled only has 270 miles on it. I am thinking either TSS, TPS, or a bad ECU any help would be greatly appreciated. I have 4 2008-2010 M8 and in over 10,000 miles on two of the sleds I never had and issues like this. I have ran a bottle of heet through it so there should be no water in the system I only run 91 ethanol free fuel.

I had a similar issue with my 16m8. Had to pull it over a lot to get it going. I added a Speedwerx stage 2 kit and not it starts awesome. Although is still bogs out after idling a bit so now trying to remedy that.

Has anyone got anymore insight into this problem. I'm sure I've read every thread (and there's a few)on this but I can't find specifically what the problem+the fix is?! I had this intermittently on my M8 '15...

I had this issue last year. I couldn't figure it out.. Replaced plugs, sprayed a little starting fluid and nothing. Checked to see if it had spark which it did on all plugs. I ended up removing the fuel line off the fuel pump and gave a quick pull and fuel came out like it should. As soon as I installed the line back on, gave two pulls and it started. Didn't have any issues after that. I don't know if maybe it developed a vapor lock or something that caused fuel from getting gas to the injectors. Just went out and started it for the first time since spring and it took about 4 pulls then fired up.

This is what I did which seemed to fix my issue. I unhooked my kill switch and TSS and I didn't have any issues since I unhooked them. My Brother on the other hand had the same issue and his was a bad stator. The Dealership claimed that they have replaced everything from fuel pumps and stators to fix this issue and its not the same part that is playing up, every sled has something different. Basically I took that as Arctic Cat has been using substandard electrical part suppliers and you never know what is going to play up. I wish this wasn't and issue because these sleds IMO are the best mountain sled on the snow I own and 800 axys and I like the Cat better but it does not matter if the damn thing wont start!

Thanks guys, I think I'm going to unplug the TSS, it's the easiest. From what I understand, just take apart the throttle block and unplug it? Is there certain colored wiring to look for or is it obvious?

I've had it flooded real bad, and I've had it bone dry with spark and had to pour in a lil fuel then it's fine. I've also had a buddy crack throttle while initial start in morning, then when I shut it off during the day, I crack it while pulling it over. Love the sled but hate this issue.

Try and put some gas down the cylinder and see if she fires. Arctic cat needs to stand behind all of this it's a lot of the 12-17 sleds that's have this same issue and for well over 12 grand at least the damn thing should start

Had the same issue after I ran out of gas once. Unhooked the line pulled the cord once and fuel came out. Plugged it back in and fired right up. Fuel pump had to be air locked.

Also, if the engine is flooded, you can unplug the fuel pump electric connector and it should fire within a couple pulls. I figure it stopped adding fuel to an already flooded engine.
