Why is the Diesel thermostat so expensive?

Anyone have a idea on a alternate 180 deg thermostat that will work for the diesel cat? the cheapest I can find is $57 dealer wants $67. That's sure seems like a lot for what it is.

Sled: 1997 t cat,1997 zrt 600
cause its a diesel, and everything on diesels seem cost more LOL
from fuel on up the food chain!

but odds are, its a more rare part NOT used on other atv's. so as such, it costs more to make than, say one that gets used in several models!, or this would be my guess!

Match it up at a parts store. My T660 Turbo sled thermostat matches up to a GM one.

That"s what the plan is. Was just hoping someone else already did it first making my trip to town go a lot faster and not having to tear my ATV apart before I had a replacement. I will post a part # when I get a new one.

You can try Kraft Power Corp in Woburn, MA ph# 781-939-9100 they are the USA distributor for that motor which is still used in generators and marine applications.
