I can not tell a lie, been looking at the 570 Outlanders

Eventually, I want to replace my 2002 AC 400 fis with something with more power. Don't get me wrong, the little 400 is a great ATV! It runs like a champ, never saw anything start as well at -10F, except, surprise , the diesel! After driving the diesel, I'm kind of spoiled for torque and the automatic transmission. So, I stopped in the local Can Am dealer , just to look. They will sell an Outlander 570 with a 48 hp Vtwin Rotax (really smooth) without PS or winch for $5999 with a very good warrantee. Same price as the AC 700 VLX with only 41.4 hp. They both come with crappy tires that I'd replace. So, I think the Arctic Cat is a pretty proven machine, I'm guessing the 700 single, will have good torque. and it's better looking (to me) . I like the locking front differential of my diesel, not sure if I'd like the Visco lock. Guess I'll have to ride both, if I can. I know Arctic Cats aren't perfect, but my mechanic gives them very high marks for reliability. So, any one have experience with the 570 Outlander? Then, perhaps I should look at the 700 TRV?

Cant help you with the 570, but a neighbor traded his 2015 700 cat in on a 650 outlander and said he would never go back to a single cylinder. Says its faster, smoother, and alot more quite than his old 700. he puts alot of miles on, mostly gravel/forrest roads and hasn't had any problems. I have yet to ride with him so just going off what he says.

I haven't ridden the 570
I've ridden the 650-it was strong but squishy
I own a 1000 XTP I would not go back to Arctic Cat- but only because of the power.

All my AC were very reliable and very easy to work on.

This CanAm is a little over-engineered. I think all machines give back what are put into them- but I needed the power.

So for 5,999 I can get a 570 Outlander from a dealer only 25 miles away. No winch, no power steering, but it's a smooth V-Twin with 48 hp. The closest Cat dealer does not even sell the Arctic Cat ATV's, only Side by Sides, Wildcats and snow sleds. They say, maybe, they might start selling the ATV's again, don't know. So, even to find a 700 VLX, I'll have to drive a long way. VLX is also $5,999 , lacks speedo and differential lock and only 41.4 hp and it's a single. I'm hoping to finally get my AC diesel back next week, but with an intercooler and a turbocharger. I guess it will depend how much I like the newfound power and extra torque. The little 400 AC has been a great bike, owes me nothing, it's not slow, it just lacking torque. I probably will look at a 700 TRV as well, love the longer wheel base of the diesel.

OK, today I bought a 2014 lime green AC 700 TRV with 120 miles for $6,000. It was love at first sight! As good a deal as the Outlander was, when my butt hit the seat of the TRV, it just felt right. I'll post up pictures tomorrow. Feels exactly like my Diesel, which is a good thing!

Geezers get set in their ways! When I went into the Can Am show room, it gave me a queasy feeling. When I sat on an Outlander, something was just off, hard to explain, hehe. Kinda like Goldilocks finding the right porridge and the right bed. It has what looks like new Sedona Rip Saw tires, still have the nubs on.
