Full Version: Ryde FX Shocks?

Mk-82
My '05 Turbo Touring is under the knife for some rear suspension work and I want to make sure all is well before I put it back in. How do you tell if the shocks are still good? Should they bounce back after compression? They compress a little easier than uncompressed. I don't want to just throw it back together and forget about it. If I could find Fox rebuildables for this machine, I'd buy them! But that rear shock has a thick body and strut for a reason I'm sure.
three in a row
There is nothing wrong with the Ride fx shocks fairly durable, decent ride, cheap to replace,if the shock returns out to full extension by itself smoothly then its fine, the downward compression on a touring unit is rather soft.Dont get me wrong the fox are good too but expect to be maintaning them,ie:regas yearly, complete rebiuld,bi yearly if you put on any distance. And if you do not get the valveing right you will harm the ride of that fine sled.
