I have been working on a landscaping project today. Lots of trips with my XTX back and forth loading it with stones and dumping them. This thing saved my back today! My question is, I did a lot of short trips(load up drive 500yds and unload) so I started it quite a few time today. Not every time I start it but it turn over sometimes like half a revolution and stops. I then release the key and turn it again she fire up easy. Is this normal for the 700 H1 to do this? It has done this for sometime now, maybe just noticed it more because of all the starts I did today. Do I maybe have a starter problem? It almost acts like there is a compresion release that dosen't release? I don't know, if thats how they are thats ok. I've never had it not start!

My 650 does the same thing, my mechanic tells me what is happening is that when the motors are warm they tend to stop TDC, so it needs to push over before it really cranks.
If you hold the key it will push it over also.
Some have stated that adjusting the valves cures it but I don't recall if it's the low or high end of the setting. I've just accepted it and hold the key until it cranks.

I hope its something simple. My friends 08 650 was doing this and eventually wouldnt even turn over. After 1/2 day we traced it to a burnt starter. It has about 1500 miles on it.

Adjust the valves!!! They are too loose and won't let the motor spin over. I have done this to mine and the wifes and it fixed both. The problem people keep having with starters and solenoids all trace back to the valves being out of adjustment. The starter is working too hard trying to turn over the engine and it burns out. The adjustments are, intake .004 and exhaust .006 but set them at .003 and .005. This is a common problem for all the H motors including the T-Cat.
