You are better off modifying the stock box for airflow than spending money on a new filter. I have the K&N on my wifes quad, wasnt worth the money. Most people snorkel, because they are mudders. I just drilled the hell out of my airbox top to allow more air flow since I dont do deep water or mud. That allows more air flow, and there is a muffler mod that opens up the exhaust too. More intake and exhaust equals more flow, and a bit of rejetting is required. This can all be done for free, and is a good noticable mod.
Damn, this is a great site for info! siterock.gif

Reason i am asking is beacuse i ordered a jet kit and am going to mod exhaust. Kit comes with a k&n air filter and is for 650 h1 05-08 models. problem is i cant find a k&n air filter for my 08 650 h1 on their site.

IMO the K&N filters don't fit/seal or filter as well os the OEM.
I noticed dust in the airbox after a long dusty ride w/ the K&N.
The only way to increase airflow is to enlarge the openings that allow air to flow.
I'll take better filtration any day.
I have one for a 650 V2 and Dodge Ram 4.7 if you have interest.

the apps where a K&N make any noticable power gain is round filters where there alot bigger than the stock filter ( like the DVX400). plus they don't seal good in our flat panel systems, the stock filter is fine. when it rips from to many cleanings a UNI works great. big thing with any filter is keep it clean and well oiled (without to much oil). snorks will show a much bigger gain than a K&N.
