I am in the process of trying to save myself $ by learning to clean my own power valves on my 01 zr 440 sno pro. I was able to get the cover off and took out the three allen head bolts. took pictures of when i pulled it out so i have a reference when re-installing. Almost stripped the ones on the clutch side. Got lucky!!...There was bulid up on them...Now my question is : Is there anything i need to know before putting everything back together once i get them cleaned up?? anything to be aware of? TgC_emoticon142.gif also the gasket around the cover looks like it has seen its better days, can i make my own or do I have to go get one from the dealer? sorry so long but, like to be thorough...thanks guys

I just got done with these on my '02 800. Not sure how similar, if at all, they are to the 440. But if you took pictures of everything for referance, it should be pretty straight forward. Most of these tips I have gotten from a random write-up I found somewhere. Make sure the valves and stoppers are all oriented the same way/ way they came apart. If the gasket is still intact, and not torn, you can probably reuse it. If it was stuck and don't want it to stick again, or end up getting a new one, smear a film of silicone sealant on the gasket prior to reassembly. On my covers, it looked like thread sealant had been used on the bolts, so I followed suit with some as well. Double check the cable slack lengths. They have to be within spec and equal to eachother. Before starting engine, do a few, slow, slow pulls to turn the engine to make sure nothings contacting (valves hitting pistons). Also, this came as a recommendation from a mechanic at my local dealership: where the end of the cable goes into the servo, apply a dab of silcone to the outer cable end to plug it and keep it in the servo. This will help it from popping out should the valve stick when the servo cyles. Will post other things as I think of them, but this is it for now.
