Clutch questions zr 500

Ok so I have a zr 500 efi that the weights wore into the spider on. I'll attach pictures. I know the best route would probably be to get a new one. It looks great except for that part. Will it be safe to put new weights bushings pins and a primary spring in it and run it for one more season or not? I'm torn on this. I'm looking to be able to put up about 1000 miles next year max. Is it going to be a problem? Also if anyone knows this great if not then it's ok. I had to drill and tap the bolt head to get it out of the clutch. Found an aluminum spacer with a little bit of a mushroom edge on it. My main question is when I get a new clutch bolt will I need those spacers? I heard cat updated that bolt since it gave so much trouble coming out. Don't know if that's true or not but just curious if say I ordered from country cat if I'd be getting the update version or not. Also if I do change my mind and decide to go with a new clutch what 6 tower should I put on? Is comet 108exp a bad one to use? Am I better off ordering a cat clutch from a dealer? I think I was told something like $300 for a new clutch from cat. I'm assuming it's a 6 tower. All help and advice is appreciated. Thanks. If different pictures are needed let me know.

A new Clutch from Cat for that sled will probably be in the upper $400 Range, You can find good used ones for under $300. The new ones are the Big Fixed pin clutch so you would need new weights also, Used you could find small pin like you have. ( Probably doesnt matter as I am guessing you will need new weights anyway).

As far as running that clutch, Some will say you can and others not to, I probably would not run it as it will affect the balance.

Ok thanks. Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm pretty new to clutches. Will the balance being off that much be a problem when it comes to trails? Thanks again for the reply.

Arctic Cat 8.25 inch 30mm Drive Clutch 1985-2009 Twin Triple ZL ZR ZRT, 0746-839

I just picked up 2 Clutches a 0746-417 and a 0746-425 for my Kid's ZR's they are both 6 post, small pin clutches I wanted to stay with them since I had weights and I found them cheap. Any of the new ones ( Unless you find old stock ) will be Big pin so you will need new weights and also have to add 2-4 Grams of weight.

These motors spin very high RPM so a little inbalance goes a long way.

The links I provided are just for reference. You can find better prices.

The T660 Clutch I thing has a different length taper but I am not sure.

Ok thanks I'll look at kens and see what they've got. So my question is what happens when the clutch is out of balance for a while? I think mine may have been like that for a while but not sure. Just trying to figure out if I damaged anything. Thanks again.

Being out of balance is hard on the bearings in the bottom end.

Ok. Should I look at rebuilding the motor then or at least the bearings in the bottom end?

Honestly I would swap clutches and run it if it was me, You are probably fine, how is the rest of the sled? Alot of miles? Compression good? If it was me I would get the replacement clutch, Put new springs and Weights in primary and new spring in secondary and run it.

Ok I'll just swap clutches hopefully I can find a good deal on one somewhere. Cat deals has one for $399. Rest of the sled is in not bad condition. Little under 4000 miles I bought it with 3300 and put up 600 miles. Compression was a little weird it was over 5psi different from one cylinder to the next. I think it was 6-8 can't remember for sure. But otherwise it was above 110 at the lowest cylinder. It runs great! Starts on one cylinder sometimes (assuming it's the higher compression side which is the magneto side?) I'm going to try my hand at cleaning the injectors and see if it helps I've been running cleaner though it and it's been getting lot better. It sat for a few years before I picked it up real cheap. Guy was tired of it in his way I guess. I need to rebuild the skid as far as redo all the bearings. Not sure what else I'll do the shocks seem just fine but I'm not a shock expert. I know that they are rebuilding ones and it's expensive to have them done somewhere (I'd probably try my hand at rebuilding them myself if it's not rocket science).
