Zrt 600 clutch on a zr 700

I've recently put a 00 zrt600 clutch on my 00 zr700. It's got a 4500 engagement and 8200-8400 top end rpm's. Compared to the 3000 engagement and 7200 top rpm of the old clutch...holy s#% t!

My question is;
the zrt ran a 010 belt and the zr runs a 020 belt (brand new ultimax pro). Deflection is good, belt sits up 1/8 or so. Do I need to shim the primary? It kinda feels geared down a little, like im not utilizing the crazy torque this 700 twin has. The old clutch came in @3k and grunted the ski's up using a lot of torque, now it feels like the motor has no load on it...maybe thats a good thing? It sounds and rides waaay hotter now!

ride, break, fix, repeat.

Did you change the weights and spring or leave the ZRT stuff in the clutch?

Still has zrt weights and spring. The rpm's are in the power band all the time, it just seams like it has the torque to pull more with higher gears. It screams with zero bog at any speed. The 020 belt is a touch wider than the 010 that the zrt ran. Would that cause a lower gearing situation? It'll do 100 with the skis up so maybe I'm just used to it working to hard?

ride, break, fix, repeat.

Well, stock engagement for this engine is 35~3800 rpm and peak is 8200, so I would say you have it spot on with the higher engagement.
You could probably pull a steeper helix with that, no problem.

It used to drop to 7000 rpm's shifting out with the worn 4-pro comet, now I cant even tell when it shifts so I'll loosen the spring and look for a steeper helix. Maybe try 1 step heavier weight in the primary just for fun. Thanks.

ride, break, fix, repeat.
