2001 ZR 800 secondary clutch sticking???

Finally got this sled up and out of the shop and it runs. Barely hit the gas and it lifts the skis off the ground. Anyway now the secondary clutch is sticking and then will slowly release and to get it fully to release you have to move the belt a little to get it to finally come out all the way.

Whats going on and what shall we check?

Start off by removing it, taking it apart and cleaning it good. Make sure you mark it somehow so that you can get it back together the same way for balance purposes. When you have it apart, check the rollers on the cover to see if they are worn and that they move freely. If they are worn, replace them.inspect for any worn out parts and put it back together. Don't lube the movable sheave or the cover, put them back on dry. See if that helps it out.

You may want to replace the spring also.

I'm with Mike, i would replace the spring as they should be changed about every 2500 miles at most, the do sack out after a while and this is what helps return the clutch to an idle position once you of the gas.It may also have b\a broken end that locks into the secondary to help with changing/adjusting the rpms proflie.

Check the bushings that the movable shaft rides on.
Check this while you have it off, checking and cleaning everything else.
