96 Zr 580 EFI (Spark, Fuel, Compression)

Hi, this is my first time posting a question on your site. Please go easy on me.
2 years ago my track rips in half on a trail. 3 miles from my home. Call the wife. She comes and saved me. Bring the sled in to the barn and she wont start. I just left her on the side of the barn and forgot about her. At the time she had no spark or anything.
Now I bring her back home from my folks place.
She has good blue spark and there is fuel being pumped to the injectors but they won't open or close. I took them out and tested them with a 9 volt battery and they work.
I did some looking around the engine and found a broken black wire that looks like a ground wire but i don't know where its going. It's conecked to the rope pulley on the bottom side and is about 5 inches long. Can this be my problem for no working injectors?
thanks Jeff

That could be the problem it should go from the recoil to the frame to ground the engine to the frame.

Make sure you start with a new battery, too. The battery EFI's are very sensitive to battery condition and even ones that test good and hold a charge may cause it run poorly.

Sorry, I forgot to say its a battery less system.

Yours may be a 97 then. The blue wires off the stator are the power for the injectors. It should measure about 19 ohms resistance across them.

just got done testing them and I got 19.8 ohms. Any other ideals?

Batteryless EFI shouldn't have a fuse box. The resistance checks out. You can also try to measure AC voltage across those same blue wires, coming from the stator, while pulling it over, just to verify. I'm kinda at a loss too.

Seems low to me. I would expect close to 12 Volts. Can you try the same test across the 2 orange wires to see what you get? Also make sure it's on AC voltage.
