1996 ext 580 efi help!

Ok, so tomorrow i am buying a 1996 EXT 580 EFI, The sled has had 1 owner and has never been rebuilt and has 3600 KM on it. Everything seems to be in good shape, But the sled will not idle, it has been sitting for almost 7 months and the battery seems to be dead, I was just wondering if you guys know anything at all that will make it run when the guy brings it here. I will not buy it if it won't idle. I am trading an $1800 gaming computer for it.

The guy told me he had it running when he parked it, He parked it because it needed a new belt and let it sit because he had another sled.

It's kind of like in a horror movie when the monster is coming from around the corner and a person runs by you and yells "Run for your life!!!" and you say "why?" and poke your head around the corner only to have the monster kill you.

Can you give me a more detailed reason that pertains to reality? 3600km's doesn't sound to bad especially because it was baby driven by a 50 year old potatoe farmer, He had purchased a 2007 sled brand new but did not drive it untill the belt went on this sled. The battery was replaced last year and it was running great last year but over the midwinter/spring/summer the battery has died. He also says there is 150PSI on both sides track is in great shape and so is the body, looks like a new sled besides the seat. I'm just wondering if its possible it needs a quick tune up and some configuration. or if it needs some $$$$ work. I am uploading a few pics of what she looks like that he sent me.

ill tell you one thing about these sleds that ive had problems with, if your hearing a rattle by the engine, look no farther then the exhaust shield, drill out rivets, striaghten edges and insert new fiberglass packing, then silicone around all openings to prevent huge rustouts...secondly, dont buy walmart batterys. they SUCK!!! if it wont run, or runs like crap, replace it. thirdly, if i were you, buy nice, high octane gas, use good oil and always try and run a little sea foam through it regularly... last of all, when you turn the key to start it, wait for the fuel injectors and fuel system to prime itself, otherwise your pulling a dry engine, and if it for some reason dies, first thing to check would, should be your plugs.....and good luck!

#1 Cat not to buy...580 EFI. I just flipped at 1995 ZRT800. It will beat the 580 no problem, has only a couple of things on it you have to watch/monitor and didin't cost much. I know you picked up the 580 EFI, but you could have done better. Heck, I'd consider the carb version before I'd get the EFI. I know this is in Michigan, but it looks like a decent deal:

Track is not in great shape. Note torn lugs on outside left of pic. Been sitting outside for awhile. Unless the puter is a few years old I would personally bow out of this one. There are tons of sleds out there, I bought one of these in April (EFI Deluxe) for $550 with 3900 miles.
