Hot Wire

lost my key for a 2000 arctic cat zl 550 esr, what would be the procedure to hot wire, i tried removing ignition switch but no spark, or do i connect some wiring

Unplug the ignition switch wire and tape them up. Make sure handlebar kill switch is up, and then pull start it.

that was the first think i tried, no go, must be something else wrong it's been sitting out in the yard with no covers for 3 years, headlight works when i pull the starter, have to find someone to hold the spark plug while i pull the starter to test J/K,
might be the ignition coil, all i have is a current tester to find out not sure if that will work
