Coolant bubbling in overflow tank
Hi guys, changed my bottom end of my engine and added coolant. Now I noticed that it bubbles in the overflow tank and is always low. Does the coolant pressure up and overflow? Now is it possible that one of the head orings are gone and if they are what color does the plug become and what is a good waly to tell?....Also is this possible that there could still be an air bubble in the system?. I have driven it for approximately 10 miles since doing the bottom end . Thanks to all!

Don't drive it anymore until you fix it or you could cost yourself more money! It probably is either the base gaskets leaking or the O-rings in the cylinder head. My guess would be the O-rings if you are seeing bubbles. If they are old replace them. Stretch them under a magnifying glass. If you see cracks, toss them out and by new ones. Sometimes they won't leak until the motor gets hot. You shouldn't get any bubbles in the overflow tank.

did you need to purge/bleed the coolant system from rebuild ? Is it bubbling or just splashing from vibration ?

All I do is put the skis on cement blocks, fill the coolant into the rad. cap. Make sure the coolant bottle is half full. Then let it idle. Feel the rear heat exchanger so its warm to the touch. When I won't take anymore anti-freeze, cap it, take it for a short run and see if the coolant bottle goes down. If so, add to the coolant bottle now and ride it again. Should stay at the half way mark. That's it.
If its bubbling, better check the O-rings.

Mine is bubbling quite rapidly. I am going to replace the o ring gaskets first..Also one spark plug had a little white on the electrode. Could be from burning antifreeze?
