Looking at 1994 wildcat 700 EFI

Hey all im looking to get a 94 wildcat 700 twin, these any good? the guys said he went down the road with no oil in the chaincase and broke the chain, im trading him a rifle if i decide to get it.

he also said he took the reverse stuff out cause he bumped it with his knee but has all the parts to put it back there. im just thinking its probably gonna need a new chaincase if this guys been in it. supposed to run great tho.

what youall think? think this would be over 100 bucks to fix with used parts off ebay?

Well first thats a 93 not a 94. Im not sure what the gun is worth but if you are getting the sled for $3-400 and you have to put a few bucks in it Id say its worth it.Id check compression,track condition,look at the exhaust pipes where they come off of the motor. They like to crack in that spot.

I had a 92 I put abot 10,000 miles on and it ran great. They ride ok for the time they were made. I wouldn't look to keep up with a new sled on a bumpy trail. You will need Back SURGERY!!!!!

X2 on the 93. I had a 88, 91, 93 & 94. 93 & 94 EFI are VERY picky about battery for EFI to run. If you drop below 12.5 volts you will have issues, which means get a battery maintainer and put it on whenever it's put away for the day or week.

Early 90 EFI's also had issues with computers and they are too expensive to diagnos and repair in my opinion. I'd check compression and also make sure the motor starts and idles first. There is a window on the computer with blinking codes to make sure it's ok. But they can go out at anytime. If you buy replacement parts you need to make sure you check the color code to match them up first.

Ride is fine and they look really sharp on the trails. Not much for ditch banging but fast across the lakes.
