Gut the air box, clutch kit and get it to hook up. You have a low lug track on it and it doesn't hook up worth a crap in snow. Get a longer lug track on it and whether you use studs or not is up to you. I wouldn't put pipes on it ect...unless you're going to big bore it. The SRX's are quick and depending on who gets the jump at the line will determine who wins. If he gets out on you 3-4 sled lengths you won't be able to reel him in.

I agree with Blaine. You could probley put a 1 1/4" ripsaw on and that would make a Hugh difference. If you get the hookup, it will be close. With that stock track all your gonna do is pile snow and watch him go. Ron.

X2. I think my kids '97 ZRT 600 can beat the yami. But you need to hook up. My kid has a little clutching done so it engages at 4500?RPM about and a 1 3/8" track, so a 1 1/2" of lug and it hooks up good and goes through powder nice. We like the triples for trail riding also because the heavy front end keeps the skiis planted when cornering. Is the '97 ZRT 800 for sale? (kind of looking for one)

When the SRX's first came out they winning drag races all the way up to the 1000cc class. You may take him across the three mile lake, but out of the hole and to 2000' would almost impossible if it is set up well.My 96' ZRT 600 with PSi pipes, porting , clutched, Swain tech coated pistons and heads and a two degree's timing key could beat my buddies SRX, but he outweighed me by forty pounds. The 800 has what, 152 hp vs 140, but there wasa weight difference if I recall and the SRX's were freakishly quick.

You shouldn't have to worry about him in any kind of snow condition, you have more torque to pull you through it, but, put the SRX on ice, or hardpack, your ZRT will have to be up to "snuff". The advantage being, the SRX is a factory "slammed" machine, whereas the ZRT is not. Height scrubs speed.

Do the AGLT mod and then take him onto twisty trails, he won't be able to keep up with you then
