Interesting read, Jeff H- needed any more piston kits, I still sell them, I haven't been on here much. As far as the exhaust valves, I have successfully installed 01 steel valves in the 98 cylinders and they actually function and work quite well! I dremeld the tiny aluminum boss above the exhaust valve holes where the 01's had the third hold down screw that the 98/ 99's SHOULD have had to make it flush with the inside of the area under the valve cover THEN I drilled and tapped a third hold down hole, dropped the steel valves and 3 hole hold down plates from a 01 in using the 98 hanger/ tiebar to hang valve together and a 98 return spring, works great and since doing that have had no more valve problems! This can be done on the 99 by dropping the 00,01 or 98 cylinders on it too! I just bought a 2011 turbo sled, I sold my 01 zr 440 cc and I am sadly selling the 98 on E-bay as we speak, just can't keep 6 sleds around for 2 people! Anyone interested in the 98:

I love all these zr 440's I bought 2 new 1997's back in 97, bought the 1998 in 05 and the 2001 in 06, Have had alot of fun with them, Smitty
