The smart valves are inside your gas tank. The EXHAUST valves are something you typically clean. Is that what you mean .... the exhaust valves, or what they also call the APV's? If you mean the APV's, click here: APV Cleaning

If you're seriously talking smart valves, I guess I've never heard of cleaning them but what do I know

No ive cleaned my apv valves plunty of times, but this smart valve is on all efi , i think its on the injectors that filters the gas before it pumps it in im not sure just not sure how to clean it and ive never really messed with efi injectors, only carbs.

FWIW ... I"ve ridden EFI sleds since the mid 90's and have never dicked around with the smart valves. Well, I take that back - my F7 had the smart valve problem addressed by a TSB. The smart valves are the fuel pick-up "discs" in the bottom of your gas tank. As far as your fuel rail and injectors go, I would go as far as maybe running an EFI cleaner through but I wouldn't be doing anything else. Not saying you can't or shouldn't do it, but I've had sleds with over 8000 miles on them and never touched that stuff and had zero fuel-related problems.

I do the normal pre-summer maintenance and add some Sea Foam into the gas. Come winter, and my first ride, I add fresh gas on top of whatever gas I've got in there - I don't have a full tank, but it's normally 3/4 full or whatever I need to cover my fuel pump.

Maybe others have some ideas ... if so, I'll let them chime in.

I had mine out of the '96 to clean it out from ice and mixed gas accident. There is not realy mutch you can clean, just wipe them down carfully. The only reason i would see you doing this would be to clean the inside of the tank itself to. I would just seafoam.
