Wanted this post to find out the what the primary springs do?
I got a 1996 580 with a green/yellow primary and engages at 4500 RPM.

What would engage at 5000?

Red engages at 3500 RPM

Not that simple.
A yellow will engage at 5000 with 42.5g weights or 4000 with 50.5 weights.
You must consider both weight and spring type

I have a purple one in my 580 and it engages at 5500 I don't know what it has for weights though.

I got 49.5 g weights so with a purpul it should be around 5000.
Gonna pick up a purpul and try it out.

Anny one got a pink?
