Sled: 2002 Arctic Cat ZR800
I have a 2002 ZR800 that I bought yesterday and the last owner put SLP twin pipes, D&D airbox and Vforce reeds on it. He never touched the clutch even after putting the pipe on it. Doesnt the clutch generaly need to be changed to "match" a different pipe? Another question I have is the SLP pipe a good pipe and what should I expect for performace from this setup? Arctic cat says 140hp in stock form, how much does the pipe, airbox and reeds generaly add? Thanks for any help or comment you give.

The pipes are designed to reach peak hp/tq at around 8100rpm. The stock 70.5g weights wont work. Weights in the lower 60g range have best results with twin pipes. If it's a carbed motor, start with #450 main jets minimum. The stock primary spring will work. Red/wht cat secondary spring works good. Helix angles can vary, I would'nt go any steeper than 62* start angle and have found that for me a 60/50 works. V-Force reeds really help the 800's with the twin pipe setups. H.P. with your setup should be just shy of 160h.p.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post. Where can I buy the springs and weights and jets you have listed so that I can try them? Can I buy the clutch parts or do I need to order a clutch kit from one of the venders? The guy I bought the sled from said he had to go up 5 jet sizes when he installed the D&D airbox, does this sound right? I have not checked the jets to see what he has in them. I am very new to the snowmobile tuning game and appreciate the help you and the others on the Cat forum provide.
