Probably no one is responding.. is cause if anyone tells you to change your oil pump set up.. and it blows up.. your going to be angry at them.
My ZR600 has always used more oil than most..and I have made adjustments on the oil pump. At 7500 miles on my sled.. A piston went.
I don't know if it was directly related to the oil adjustment or not, but I turn the oil back up anyway. Oil is cheap compared to pistons and cylinder.
There is a stamped line in the metal rotating piece on the oil pump.
Also there are two stamp marks in the aluminum housing of the pump.
One is for idle setting, the other is for full open setting.
The mark on the rotating metal piece, should line up with the housing marks at idle and full open.
I have been told these pumps are touchy with adjustment, so if you plan to tweak it, only a line thickness at a time!
I have a picture of mine.. adjusted 3-4 line thicknesses off!
[attachment=31891:attachment] Look in the dental mirror to see the two marks.
Operate the throttle stare at the pump operation.. to understand it, so you know which way to adjust, it can throw you off if your not paying attention.
