Sled: 1998 ZR 600
i got some bogging/crackle on the top end (7200 RPM plus under full throttle) so i figure its a too small main jet...

its got a 360 in there right now, andaccording to the guide, thats about the largest i can go... but i was just windering if i should try a 400 or somthing?

i was also told that this could be caused by a faulty stator... i want to try the 4 dollar main jets b4 the 300 dollars stator rewind... because everytthing else works ok...

so i was basically looking for the stock main jet size on these 1998 ZR 600's

Why do you want to go up in jetting, I would think you would jet it down to maybe 340's? Where do you ride, what elevation's?

isnt a bigger number more fuel? i want to go up because it seems to be leaning out on the top end... and im at 1200-1300 feet...

its not clutching problems.. it wont rev past 7200 ish becuase of a fuel or ignition issue.. the engine breaks up.. like sputter/crackles... which is caused by a lean condition... the plugs were also very dry and almost turnng white so i think its lean...

Sled: 04 ZR 900 & a 98 ZR 600
unplug your throttle position sensor, but the carburation for that sled, the stock main jet is a 360, the needle is a 6EGJ1-clip on 3rd hole, slide is a 3.0, the airscrew is 1 1/4, and the pilot jet is a 40, to me it sounds like your TPS is frigging up, i had a problem like that with mine last year, unplugged it and run great ever since

is the TPS the wires from each carb? cuz they are un hooked and have been the whole time...

theres no where to suck air from cuz its got two brand new boots and other than at 7K, it runs fine... im guessing its a stator problem... but im going to try going up a few sizes to see if that cures it b4 dropping a few hundred on a stator fix
