Hi I just bought an 06 f7. After riding it i noticed the gas tank/cap is leaking. I would normally think it is the cap but reading up on the problem there is a safety bulletin posted for this problem. I contacted my dealer previous to knowing the tank was leaking and asked him to run the vin and figure out what recalls had been done. He said all of the recalls had been done. My question is if the recall has already been done and the tank is leaking will arctic cat replace it again for free because it is a safety bulletin? Thanks in advance
there was 2 types of recalls on the tank (iirc) one was a sleeve that went down in the filler neck . (done on my sled in 07) and the second was to replace the tank because its a fire hazzard/issue , all free of charge . this was also done to my sled last year .
I asked my dealer about the recalls and was told that even if the recall was done and it broke again they would fix it. I'm sure some dealers won't let you in on that due to costs but I'd ask
My 05 Sabrecat had sleeve put in it. I took it in a month ago for FREE tank replacement due to cracks at neck. Don't let dealer charge you for labour. Dealer said that and my steering recall were not done according to his computer. Steering was done though.
lets see if this works .

Date: April 24, 2006 Product Line: Snowmobile
Bulletin No: 2007-1-02 (Conditions A-C) Subject: Gas Tank Filler Neck
Affected Models/VIN:
All 2004, 2005, and 2006 Arctic Cat Firecat and Sabercat Models (EFI Only).
What is the reason for this notice?
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Arctic Cat is voluntarily recalling
38,139 gas tanks which have been installed on a variety of 2004, 2005, and 2006 Firecat and Sabercat
EFI models.
What is the problem?
The gas tanks may develop a crack near the base of the filler neck. If the gas tank filler neck were to
develop a crack, the possibility of leaking gas may occur which in turn could present a fire hazard.
Stop Sale Immediately of all 2004, 2005, and 2006 Firecat and Sabercat EFI snowmobiles until the
gas tanks have been inspected for the presence of cracks in the filler neck. If a crack is visible,
do not sell the snowmobile until the gas tank has been replaced. Also, inspect all the affected
gas tanks in your inventory. If a crack is visible, do not sell the gas tank.
What should you do?
Condition A: Inspect the filler neck for a crack near the base of the neck where it joins the gas tank
body making sure to inspect the entire diameter of the neck. See Fig. 1.
If a visible crack in the filler neck exists, the gas tank must be replaced.
Fig. 1
SNO-100
„NOTE: See Condition B and C (below) for further details regarding gas tanks that do not
have any visible cracks in the filler neck area.
! WARNING
Do not operate or permit anyone to operate a snowmobile that contains a gas tank with a visible crack in the
filler neck. Severe personal injury may result if gas leaks from the gas tank. Condition B and C:
If no visible crack exists, it is safe to operate the snowmobile; however, Filler Neck Insert
Kit (p/n 0637-299) or Filler Neck Insert Kit (p/n 0637-300) must be installed as soon as
possible. Installation instructions will be included with each kit. See Solution B and C for
ordering the proper kit.
„NOTE: The installation of the filler neck insert will prevent the possibility of a crack developing
in the base of the filler neck.
Please contact all your customers and assist them in completing the necessary service
work.

Product Safety Recall Bulletin (letter enclosed).
