Exclamation Need help with 04 f6

I just recently purchased an 04 fire at 600 efi. I'm going to do my best to describe its issue. Everything works fine and the motor is all good. When you start it it starts just fine. As soon as you rev it and it reaches about 3500-4000 and starts to pull the track and move it has this weird grinding noise or slipping noise. It sounds absolutely horrible. Do you guys have any ideas? I know I probably didn't explain it very well but it's hard to describe what's going on. Thanks for the help

Is the sled diamond drive or chain case?

Sounds like a bearing in the driveline somewhere - since you describe it as 'horrible' I'm gonna guess its something more significant than an idler wheel in the skid. Try turning the secondary by hand with the motor off (and track raised) and see if you can pinpoint where the noise is coming from. Could be jackshaft bearings or drive shaft bearings, or bearings/broken gear(s) in the dd case if you have that.

Each time it makes that noise you can see the belt like jump really bad. It almost seems like the noise comes after like one full revolution of something. You can take the belt cover off and watch the belt and as soon as the noise happens the belt jumps like hell.

'04 had chaincase drive. Sounds like it may be a jackshaft bearing, with the sled NOT running, grab the secondary and see if it moves up/down, in/out. It should be good and tight.

Maybe drain the chanincase and take off the cover and take a look-see inside at the gears too.

maybe something is binding and the belt is jumping when the tension frees - or if the drive chain is too loose and a link if folding over/jumping.

How does the brake look? could it be warped and dragging in one spot?

I hate to say this and I feel dumb. I think I found the cause. There's a part on the belt where it somehow got sliced and cut some of the ribs out of it and I think it was just slipping. I haven't bought a new belt yet but will let everyone know when I do

Still kinda sounds like a bearing is bad some were in the drive line.
