My step Dad is looking at buying a 2004 F6 Firecat and he wanted me to ask on here for some information on this sled? Does it make a good trail sled? Was there any major problems with sled? Any advice/information is welcome.

Thanks!

Awesome trail self if set up right and and stuff that needs to be done to the sled is regular maintenance and check for cracked frame, idler wheels bearings ,slid rails cracked , engine mounts crack. Last year was my first season on the same sled you mentioned. It was alot of fun. I'd desperately like reverse, and the damn thing sometimes doesn't like to turn when it should lol, but it goes quick through the trails when you work it and you'll always have a smile on your face.

Starting the EFI (pull start) in any weather was NEVER a problem. 2nd pull every time.

I got a trunk for it to help extend the carrying capacity for when I go on two day rides.

Backs a little sore after 200 mile days, next sled will be the newer generation to help save my back.

Watch the idlers, I lost a few throughout the season!

Good luck have fun!
