My 2003 F-7 has about 5300 miles on it. I am on the fence about new psitons and rings. What seems to be the average out here for miles before a top end is done? It still runs great. I don't have any compression numbers yet. I did peek at the pistons and cylinder walls with a boroscope and didn't see any signs of scuffing or wear. I'd rather do it sooner than later if it's on the way out. What's the average out there for miles before a rebuild?

I personally know a guy that got over 11000+ miles on his 03 F7 (Then he sold it (still runs)). And I have heard of people going over 12. I hear that lay down engines last longer. I donít know the reason but they do. For a regular stand up motor I change them every 5000 miles.
