I believe that the yamaha got 19or20 mpg. I know several people that have yamaha triples and they always did better on fuel than I did. I get between 13 & 15 mpg. I have never heard of anyone with a Firecat (f5,f6orf7) getting 19 or 20 mpg. I consider my mpg to be acceptable. I am more interested in performance but,I would not want to get much less mpg.

I own a 05 600EFI Sabercat & a 2000 Sxr600w/pipes, I ride with two guys with Sxr700 Yams & one with a SRX700 Yam.

Gas mileage goes like this SRX700 is by far the best, & with by far the most performance PERIOD!
The 2 Sxr700s are always $4-6.00 better on fuel than my 600EFI Cat but are outrun by the Cat.
My old Sxr600w/pipes is just slightly better on gas than my Cat but will outrun the Cat & the two Sxr700's anyday, anytime, anyplace It also has 20,000kms on it with one set of pistons & a new track last year

F/S F-6 throttle body, TPS & injectors all new never used, see my add.

Hi i have a buddy (sxr 700) who says his triple will get more fuel milage than an 05 ski-doo 600 carb and gets the same milage as my 04 efi f6 sno pro Ya it's kinda of stupid question but heard that f6 efi gets 13-15 MPG and i told him those numbers but he said bullshit "efi is a dog on gas" And I heard efi is great but i'm going to side with my arctic cat brothers and sister Thanks for the help

I have an 04 F6 and get around 13-14 mpg riding pretty aggressively. I can't speak for the SXR, but I do know that EFI is much more efficient on gas than traditional carbed sleds . I know one of the sled magazines compared carbed firecats to efi firecats and said there was a full gallon difference between the two at the pump. If he does get better mileage, ask him if its worth all the back pain of riding an SXR! lol.

I don't know about mileage because I have never checked it, but I did ride a 2000 700 SXR before I bought my 700 EFI Sabercat. Maybe my Yammi was a fluke but it never saw a gas station that it didn't have to stop at, maybe it was because I was in the throttle all of the time trying to keep up with the 600's I was riding with. I don't know why but it was a gas hog!!!! My Sabercat even with the extra mods [ 150 + HP] goes twice as far on a tank as my Yammi did. I am sure the 30 more HP and 40 less pounds has alot to do with that, I can ride at 3/4 throttle with the Sabercat and do what the Yammi did at full throttle. I am not bashing the Yammi, I enjoyed that sled and the way it handled but it was a gas hog.

19 MPG is a joke - it's more like 12-14.

Was questioning the math there too

125 miles on a tank...that's 10 gallons my math says that's 12.5 MPG
or if it's a 12 gallon tank @ 125 miles that's 10 MPG !! ouch

F/S F-6 throttle body, TPS & injectors all new never used, see my add.
