I've noticed alot of the Firecats have the lens covers and was
wondering if they still provide decent lighting and night vision ???????

How do the dark lens compare to the yellow or green ??
As if there were'nt enough topics rolling already..

tks.....

Most are attached with velcro so they are removeable when darkness falls. The hard part is having somewheres to put them. The dark smoked ones don't let much light out.

my purple one gives out the same amount of light with it and without it, the light is just purple, i take it off at night though because it really blinds people on the trail, i got a dash storage bag so i put em right in there, velcro on, velcro off

AAAAhhhhhhhh Velcro !!

tks for the tip, I would nver have known looking at the pics,
as I said before "New Sledder Here"...

BTW: F6 Monster, I think I may be going with the 04 F6 in Green.....

Your sled looks Bad A-- and I'm thinking an 05 would be alittle pricey
for my first sled, maybe i can save a grand or two ?

you might be able to find a leftover new one pretty cheap.

as for the lens covers, they do attach with velcro and come off easily. the yellow ones I have actually give me better visibility at night, especially when it is snowing out. I rode once last winter without them at night and was suprised at how much I couldn't see with the plain white light. Also, I think yellow is legal in ny, so it works out great. and looks good too

Havn't seen any sled in person I'm in Sicily until Oct.....

I have seen them all online and like the 04 F6 Green the best....
Everyone says the Black is pretty cool also.....I'll see when I get back....
As for now it may be the F6 Green for trail riding in VT and NY.....

I may have some tech questions for ya sometime down the road.....

Cheers!

I had a green head light cover and got pulled over for a safety violation in Vermont during the daytime. Colored lens covers are illegal in Vt. The cop gave my a written warning but could have fined me $148. I had no idea. But I should have researched their rules before going to Vermont. We got pulled over the same day for a registration check. Never saw so many cops on the trail.

:wow:

Great Info....that's a bummer, i guess the velcro will help when
when I see the red and blue the lens go in the bag

Seriously though I'll check out VT rules with VAST.....

tks for the heads up and cool sled ! Cheers!

Where in VT do you ride, I'll be in Central around Killington.....
