There are several advantages of chrome or nikasil replating as opposed to sleeving, especially on a higher performance engine - considerably better heat transfer, the ability to run tighter ring end gap clearances (which the stock Kawi pistons had), no issues with port match-up, longevity, etc - once the jugs are bored and sleeved, there's no going back - with the rarity of 440 Z cylinders, there's another set "lost".
