1970 Panther, 1971 Wankel

So I just got my next project, BEFORE I fininshed my 1976 Pantera, and I need some advise. I bought a 1970 Panther 303 without the original engine, but came with a 1971 (I think) (km914b) Wankel engine. I do not have a carb, or any spark.

Questions:

I want to put a Mikuni on it as I have spare from my Pantera project, any idea what size may work, or what size motor I should get one from? I am making an adapter plate already. My '76 Pantera had two vm-32 Mikunis on it.

My engine has no spark and I think it is just a condenser, but has anyone ever upgraded to a breakerless system?

And lastly, should I tear down the engine BEFORE I try to run it?

I unsoldered the condenser and now now I have spark, was really suprised at how good the spark was without one. I installed an external one just as a test untill I get a new one. I can't wait to hear it run! Still looking for a carb. I'm going to the grass drags today in Brussels, WI. Maybe I'll find a carb there. The seat is in my garage, Its faded but is in near perfect condition! I really hope to drive this this winter and maybe restore it next spring/summer.

Here are some pics of my first project...I'm sad that I had to use my first Pantera for parts for my second one. I'm mostly waiting the the crankshaft to come back so I may finish it. Can't wait to drive this one. It is my first snowmobile in 22 years! I had to touch EVERYTHING to get it on the trail last winter except the engine (rear suspension, secondary, primary clutches, etc). All were siezed bent, broken, or otherwise non-functional. But the engine ran perfect! The engine mounts gave up on my last trail ride so I had to make new ones (1976 Pantera ONLY).
