homemade exhaust

i am looking to make my sled sound better but i dont want to spend the money for a rumble pack for my 1990 prowler 440 if they mave one for it. i was thinking of putting one of these on it . Cherry Bomb

i think can weld some brackets on so i can put it in. any thing wrong with this or is it a good idea. i dont think it will damage the engine? but not sure

I had Cherry Bombs on my Mustang back in the 80's.It would have to be a first on a snow machine.

no it will blow your motor unless you have a expansion pipe before the cherry bomb, if you use the cherry bomb as like a can than it will be fine just loud. you might have to rejet but no if you don't have an expansion pipe before the cherry bomb

What is an expansion pipe? From my y pipe to my muffler the pipe goes from small to big to small to the muffler and out. Can you post a pic of an expansion pipe? And can I make one or do i have to buy one and are they expensive? So how could it blow the motor? I'd like to know so I can give others advice.

Thanks

Yes it goes small big then small the sometimes just dumps out put that is usually really loud, so they put whats called in slang a 'can'. It is between the y pipe and the outlet. A expansion pipe looks like this:http://www.countrycatoverstock.com/s...ossfire/Detail

that is what comes off my y pipe to my muffler, so could i just put a cherry bomb on instead if the stock muffler? since my sled has that on it will it be fine or will it blow the motor?

Really the only thing that you could do is run it this way: From the exhaust port on the motor to a expansion pipe to the cherry bomb in other words you need to have the y pipe or the expansion pipe
