Well, had been riding the fury for a few weeks now after putting new bars and 1 motor mount on. Man did I mess up:angry: Broke one of the rear mounts now......motor has to come back out. I guess I should just replace all of them huh???? Dang.....would have been easier the 1st time.
Hey,...sounds like the story of my life! I guess the older I get the more cautious I get about it though. Who said you cant teach an old dog new tricks? Lol!
Good luck!
22mpg or 22 mph?? Kiddin.....I would have traded you last night I was so mad at the thing and myself:angry: I am pulling the motor today and already ordered 3 new mounts for it. The parts diagram shows the left fron mount as being solid?? That may be my problem. Is that true?? Anyway, I will give you a call since I will have the carbs off, I will clean again and get those numbers for ya....... I hope all the snow melts while it is brokenna nana na Nice fury man.........!!
Do you know if the left front mount is rubber or solid??? Diagram seemed to show only 3 rubber mounts???? Anyone??Cat happy My new motor mounts came today!! What is the trick to get them tight in that little space that they sit in?? Doublenut and tighten from the top??? Locktite????? what???????? Last new one lost the locknut???
you broke a rear one? welcome to vintage sledding. engine is coming out...looks like this, right? you need to loosen the front mounts... roll the sled on its side to get to the rear ones. Take the engine and plate out as one piece. replace your bad mount and reinstall. Piece of cake...LOL.
got 4 new mounts in this time with locktite and nylon locknutsCat happy Rode er' today!! Always a treat and a smile when I hear that thing startRockerdudeRockerdude Hope this to be the end of motor mount issues..........
i am glad YOUR happy....I friggn melted a piston Saturday, running my fury for the first time. So pissed i havent torn it down yet...it may rot on the hill for all I care...LOL.
I know what ya mean:angry: Well....maybe not to that extent?? Hey, give me a call. Found a couple fury's for a decent price?? Both run......maybe you are interested in one??? Good luck.....don't put her in the corner for timeout.......:cold:
well I am going to yank the crank(lol)) and take it to a friend and see if the runout is out. I didnt think it was, as I checked it with V blocks, but that was 2 years ago. That cyl always ran hotter than the mag side. I should have stayed on top of that better. I did do plug checks but was havn too much fun runnin wide open to stop for another. They do sound great...until they sound like a machine gun and come to a slow and steady stop!
SorryI dunnoI dunno.....loss for words. Sad to hear she grenaded on ya?? Ya you are right about that sound!!chflagwv: It is worth every penney and bloody knuckle to hear that thing rumble to life on a cold, quiet winter day!!Not worthy:
