Hi,
I have a 1992 carbed wildcat that the primary clutch is shot on. This really irrates me because i only have about 1200 miles on it. My cat dealer said replacement clutch would be $440 + the weights pins and bushings. I just cant justify that kind of cash for this sled. I checked on e-bay and can get one for about $209 uncalibrated. The used shops want about 200-225 for one.
I guess my question is what is the best route to go? I dont feel the artco clutch lived up to its name and hesitate to buy another one. The local used shop said a polorais clutch would also fit. Any ideas or helpful info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

shop around you should be able to find a sale for under 300 on a new cat 6 tower clutch try here

I generally stay away from buying used clutches because they are probably as toasted as yours

or rebuild yours

I have bought many used ones from Ebay & they were just fine. I repair sleds for people that is why I have bought many of these. You just eed to pay attention to the weight bushings & other wear parts in the clutch & replace them when they get bad before they totally ruin your clutch. That is much cheaper than having to buy a new clutch. I have never paid over $150 for a complete clutch on Ebay. Good Luck.
