on a 80 jag fc with the butterfly carb I can't get it to idle unless it cranked up till it wants to creep

It always used to until I cleaned the carb now it runs great but dies at Idle if you don't choke it

I'm not familiar with these carbs and don't know what the idle circuit consists of the only thing that I can see would be the 1 screw on top similiar to an air screw on a slider and I'd like to know what is the starting point on these

Hey bobcat, I had one of these that wouldn't idle. Run like hell from 1/4 throttle on up, but no idle. Turns out part #17, the pipe assembly was rotted off at the very bottom. Only like 1/32." take it out and look carefully and see if it has a nice factory edge or is it wavy like it has deteriorated.

I will give up my vintage sled when they pry my frozen dead thumb from the throttle......WOT of course!

well the problem is solved I think after taking this carb apart for the 4 hundredth time i noticed a missing piece the pilot relief jet also called the block jet not sure how this piece is even removed or how this one came out but if anyone has one or a carb to get rid of please let me know I need one
