I know someone with an older (1970 something) Arctic Cat El Tigre 440 snowmobile. I've been told the sled is rare and that it is a race model.

I do know that it has never been raced and it is the 2 CYLINDER MOTOR WITH THE 4 SPARK PLUGS which I guess is rare.

WHAT YEAR IS THIS SLED????
HOW MUCH IS IT WORTH????
Did these sleds have hood hinges???

thanks

Sled: '08 Crossfire 8 SnoPro, 2013 HCR
ATV: '05 A/C 500 Auto, '08 Prowler 700
2007 Mileage: 450
It's a '73 to '75 model - none of the 440 El Tigres were rare, unless they had the mod motor and pipes on them or were the Z's - here's the production run for each year:

1973 440 - 5,425 produced
1974 440 - 4,000 produced
1975 440 - 3,520 produced
1975 440 Z - 1,776 produced

If it's a Z, it's worth $1,500 on up, depending on condition - a standard El Tigre isn't worth near as much, unless it's mint.

What's the serial and model #'s?

Dave

not rare, but still a great sled. serial number and/or model number can get you the exact info on what you got. BTW, great picture.

All I can add is yes the hood hinge is internal. They use rubber hooks for tie downs. Like the new ones.
