Sled: 1972 Arctic Cat Panther 440
ATV: 2001 Max II 6x6 Amphibious
Can someone tell me what the differences are between these two engine model numbers. They are the 436cc engines. My '72 440 Panther engine is the TIA440SIB and is the original. The last digit is stamped into the plate. The other digits are printed on the plate. The TIB440SIA numbers were used in the '73 440 'Cats. Am I correct in assuming that the engines are the same in all specs but the model number represents the year rather than anything else? The model numbers were different for the '72 EXT and the '73 EXT and El Tigre 440 engines.
