I lucked out and had a very fast stock 74 440 tiger and a new 75 440 tiger and must have raced 300 different sleds back then and don't remember the Fury being any faster but it could have been.
1975 Fury was rated at 60hp. 440 El-Tigre was rated at 55 hp for 1975. Not that many Fury built, I think it was around 5000. One year only. Now I have a friend who raced the Fury and it was a Tiger stomper in stock class, UNLESS it came up against a 1975 Z 440. That Z engine was closer to 70hp stock because of the hotter porting and twin pipes. Stock El-Tigre was always a single pulse charger pipe. Fury had a variation of the Z pipes on it. Twins. One bug he told me about was the Fury had weak carb boots. Carbs would fall off the motor in rough running. Several racers made their own mounts to combat this.
