Benefits of a new exhaust?

Hi folks...who can tell me the real benefits of a new atv exhaust system vs. a stock exhaust other than the greater sound? Does it increase performance?

well to be honest, MOST aftermarket exhausts, don't offer a LOT, more about marketing and hype, than true gains on MOST things
but gains you can MAYBE get will be, lighter weight, , made of better materials, BETTER flow of exhaust, better sound
MOST exhaust are NOT big HP gainers, ALONE< as if your going to effect air flow going out, you need to also gain air flow going in, air fuel mixtures and so on!

like all things, its a combo, of things working together that gets you the most gains, and DON"T think, that if they claim an exhaust gets you 3 hp, and a tuner get you 3-5 hp and then a performance air filter gets you 2-3 hp, m that doesn;'t really work in math, where you add them all together, LOL
combined they might only make the same 3-4 hp, and again, that might be HP at the crank, NOT hitting the ground at the tires! a BIG difference!
you'd be lucky to get HALF that at the tires on the ground!
guys that RACE and need every ounce of HP they can get to TRY and get an edge,
exhausts on most things, don't IMO be worth the added costs of them!small gains, bigger bucks out of pocket
if you need m,ore HP< buy a bigger motored ATV!, money better spent! LOL

Speedwerks does pretty good on my 450i. I have no regrets.

ATV: 2014 700XT TRV (1,400 miles)
Benefits of a new exhaust?

I installed a HMF Blackout Stealth exhaust on my 2014 TRV 700XT and noticed a good amount of bottom end gains (and of course a much beefier/deeper sound). The people I ride with said they also noticed a difference in power and bottom end get up! But this again is just my experience with the exhaust. From other experiences no 2 machines are the same even if they are exact models.

I agree, NO two machines will get the exact same result when modding things

However, I ALSO, know for a FACT, many times, the GAIN"S people THINK They feel are many times in there heads, more than actually hitting the ground
a god buddy of mine had a Dyno for yrs, and we used to hear customers all the time say, HOW Much more power, "X" item gave them, and they could FEEL the difference
then get them on a dyno, and they'd have like 4 hp more on a 4500 lbs car>
where I doubt ANYONE is going to FEEL a 4 hp gain LOL

Like I said, above, most gains are small, and in the real world, most don't actually MAKE a difference in HP to the ground,, when sounds change, and or MAYBE when they effect RPM"S climbing faster, them sounds of faster rev's makes it FEELS like its doing more than it truly is
think HP to LB ratio's
and then ask yourself, HOW Much HP do you think it really takes to MAKE a difference!
then ask yourself, HOW much difference your getting for the $$$
anything can help, and to some any gain is worth the price, but to me, unless your doing a bunch of mods, to really get a gain, your not getting much bang for your buck in slip on and the likes on most all utility atv's
Sport atv's can be a different animal at times, they some times wake up more, just my experience and 2 cents again
NOT bashing on guys that have or like there's

I did timed runs with my 450i for every mod I did. The Speedwerks exhaust by itself shaved over .6 seconds off my 0-60 kph runs on gravel compared to stock. I added a variable pot resistor to increase fuel slightly and it reduced 0-60 kph by over 1 full seconds in gravel. The resistor was cheap, Speedwerks exhaust not so cheap. Your own results may vary.
