Newly, I have a 2006 Arctic Cat ATV 400 4x4 Automatic. The Centrifugal clutch has fly out weights that have 4 plates of metal pressed together, on eBay other 2006 400s have 5 plates, will the 5 plates still work in mine?
You must be talking about the wet clutch and number of plates pressed together in each of the 5 shoes. It's possible original is different than Cat replacements as part number has been superceded.
Donny.... the "fly out weights" are actually the wet clutch shoes that grasp the clutch drum and engage it to spin. The springs they are attached to determine the engagement rpm.
I'm not 100% sure if 4 plates or 5 plates make a difference, but thickness matching would be important here I would think. Overall thickness or depth must be equal.
