ATV: 400 arctic cat TRV 2006
how to springs?

Rear Spring/shocks

jUST ordered my spring after snapping it couple days ago, when installing am i gonna need a spring compressor? or will i have to jack it up, and let the rear susp hang, install the spring and easy does it?

you need a spring compressor this is the results of not using one.

200 stitches and 7 feet of steel wire and one year to recover

When dealing with springs that are under compression, my vote 10 out of 10 times is to use the right tool. That's a lot of stored energy that can get away from ya and in the end, can really put a big hurt on you. The picture above is a good example. Now, think about what could have happened if that spring had flown just 6" higher on the face. he'd be blind in one or both eyes and his nose would be destroyed.

just sized it all up, i'm gonna remove the shock and bring with, when i go to the dealer and have them put it on,

Just as another option for fellow riders. Check your local autoparts store like O'reiley's or AutoZone because I know some "rent" out tools like this. I did this when I needed the torsion bar tool for my truck and also neighbor did it when we changed his springs.

life,s lessons we learn the hard way,

Actually sanny they said 1/16 of on inch higher it would have killed me on the spot, my teeth and bones were in the back of my throat but still attached to gums, they estimated 42oo psi ,

I have very little face bone left, but lucky to be alive
