OK...for those without a welder, this might help. Pretty easy.
Get you some 7/16" coupling nuts. They fit in the speedrack mounts PERFECTLY! And some 7/16" bolts (get 3/4" long...unless you can find some 1/2" long...I couldn't)
drill two 7/16" holes in your ammo cans (get the SAW cans if you want them to sit parallel...I'll post a .50 cal version update soon) the holes should be 9 13/16" center to center (9 3/4" was too tight)
Put a LARGE fender washer (3/4" hole) in first, then a 7/16" washer and your bolt in the holes and put the coupling nuts on the outside.
Tighten just snug.
Drop the can with the coupling nuts into the speedrack mounts.
Mark with a sharpie where the holes should go (extra step. now scratch the sharpie marks with a 1/4" drill bit to see exactly where to put the holes)
Remove the coupling nuts, and drill at LEAST a 5/16" hole on your marks(1/4" will be too hard to line up PERFECTLY...pain trying to get the pins in) You MAY want to go an extra size if your having trouble lining things up.
Reassemble the bolt/washers/nut. And either mark with a sharpie or count how many threads you have sticking into the hole you just drilled....remove and cut the bolts to size (OR, you could just add a bunch of washers...but that would look lame)
Take your coupling nuts ONLY, and put them in the speedrack mounts with pins. Take the box with the washers and bolts and put it over your coupling nuts. Tighten. IF you have trouble lining the bolts up with the nuts, re-drill the holes in the ammo can to 1/2"
Once tight, take a wrench and make sure the coupling nuts are still lined up properly with the speedrack mounts...chances are you'll need to turn them slightly looser.
(Extra step. Silicone the bolt/washers/box if you want to keep them 100% waterproof)
Remove the boxes, and check fit (put the pins back in)
once everything fits just right, tighten securely (and re-check LOL)
You COULD just make bigger holes and everything will be easier to line up, but doing it this way will eliminate any slop in the fit
Here's the view inside the can when done
Outside can. Coupling nuts
finished job
I'll add the smaller cans soon...I'm likely to mount them turned in at the front a little bit, as they are too short to get washers in when mounting parallel.

I did the same thing last year. I have another set of cans for the front for when I'm not hauling my bow or rifle.
I used a bolt with large wing nuts instead of pins and removed the plastic sleeves in the rack to get it tight and rattle free.

I am going to try that for a set of Baja lights I just purchased. I want to be able to detach the lights when not needed and a speedrack mount is the ticket. I saw in A/C catalog a set of speedrack lights but its like $150! The lights cost me $25 and with some hardware to make it work, maybe another $25? Epically when I have the plow on, the stock lights are blocked by the plow. The coupling nuts are a great idea, thank you for sharing that.

Well a trip to the Home Depot and some work I came up with the modification. I had to go down a size of the coupling nuts (I think they are 3/8") That may be due to my speedracks still have the plastic inserts. A few fender washers and I also modified the light mount with a carriage bolt and wing nut so I can adjust the lights as needed.
Thank you for your post, that was very helpful. The total cost was $25 for the lights and about $15 in hardware. I already had the plug for the accessory outlet so that was no cost.
Mike

The speedracks are great for switching things around depending on what you plan for the day. Some of the accessories are expensive, but with the ideas presented here, you can make your own accessories that are not in a catalog.
