Has anyone had to rebuild the brake master cylinder/Lever assembly? I need to & I'm having a hard time finding the O-rings that seal the piston & cylinder. Everything else looks good on the assembly. I have a hard time dropping the $100+ on a new assembly from the dealer. I haven't checked with Wilwood to see if they can do anything direct or not, buts its my next step. Thanks for any feedback.------Southern Cat :scat:

I can understand & agree with trying to avoid buying a complete new unit just because of an o-ring.

But have you checked to see if the dealer can get you the o-rings you need?

I had a look at the online parts diagrams, and unfortunatley there is no exploded view of the master cylinder.

$20 rebiuld kit sounds great! But, where do I purchase one? The Local dealer said no such kit was available, only the replacement unit(complete assembly). So please point me in the right direction. Thank you !!!!!!!!!---Southern Cat :scat:

I'm on my 3rd master cylinder on my 98 454. My dealer confirmed that some of the master cylinders used back then had bad castings- meaning porosity problems within the casting. The only way to check is to zyglo. If the porosity in the casting is bad enough then it doesn't matter if you have new o-rings or not because the brake fluid will leak around the o-ring since there is that imperfection with the casting. My dealer is great he has stood behind the last two - at no charge to me. Both went bad within 2-3 month time frame. This dealer has also retrofitted some of the other customers older Cats with the newer style master cyclinder which is much better....... but it's more expensive. It sounds like it might just depend on how your dealer is willing to work with you.
