2010 h1 550 overheating

ive noticed the fan doesn't kick on that much and today i went out for about a hour ride and it never came on once the high temp light came on for the first time ever i was wondering what the issue could be. ive always wanted to put in a switch so i could manually turn the fan on and off but i wasn't quite sure how to

You can put a switch to run the fan. I had one on my 2001 AC 500, it had the opposite problem. Their fans ran all the time, it wouldn't warm up in the winter. Still, you should fix yours, get a wiring diagram. Probably a bad relay. My old 500 , you could drive all day long with the fan off, if air passed thru the radiator. You can also put a temp gauge in pretty easily.
