2007 700 efi sputtering and won't start

I have a 2007 700 efi . Recently I started it and pulled it out the garage to work on a buddies canned ham . When I went to pull it back in it sputtered and barely ran then died . Then it wouldn't start back . I figured it fouled the plug cause it hadn't been ran much lately except to go in and out of the garage so I put a plug in it . It ran the same. Started and died a few times started and idled rough then died and wouldn't start again. Got to testing and pulled plug out and it was dry. Ok so no fuel getting there. Sprayed starting fluid and it will run as long as you spray . You can hear the pump kick on when key is turned and if cycle key a few times it will start and then die . I pulled the fuel line at the injector and it a getting fuel. I didn't manually check pressure as I realize this is an open system and it doesn't take any pressure to push fuel when there is no resistance. Pulled the pump and found the outside black o ring on the regulator in bad shape . I put a new one on and hoping that's it . Haven't had a chance to put it back in but hoping that's it. Any input or ideas? I also took a 9 volt and manually sprayed the injector

Cool Possible fuel issue

Check your fuel.
I had the same issue with the GF's 09' 550 last week. I had to drain all the gas (dumped it in the riding mower) and add new NON-ETHANOL 92 octane loaded up with SEAFOAM.

Changed out the fuel filter too

Took a bit to get it running but I managed to get it to idle. Then I took it out and ran it hard for a few miles till it cleared up

Fuel today has about a 1-2 month life expectancy or less.

My excuse....my gas was OLD and I shoulda know better.

FYI - I got mine to start by cranking the starter and pumping the throttle repeatedly....till it fired.

Just so we're clear.......I DO NOT have an Arctic Cat ATV Addiction..........wellll...YES...yes I do.....

You shouldn't pump the throttle to get an EFI going. Sounds like your fuel pump assembly.

I appreciate the input . I already took some fuel out and poured it on the ground and lit it . I went into flames instantly which tells me the fuel is good . Plus the fact that if I cycle the key a few times before trying to start it will start and idle a few seconds. Which tells me it was a fuel pressure related problem. I will update once I put the pump back in . If it doesn't work I will be ordering the mustang pump

Just because the fuel lights with a match doesn't meet its good enough to run an engine. I would be checking my fuel pressure.

The same fuel runs in my Polaris fine . Fuel pressure is my next test if the bad o ring doesn't fix it . I just didn't have a gauge so had to wait on one to come in . In my experience of working at the car dealerships usually if the fuel lights right up and and burns continuously it's good enough to burn in the engine. An engine is doing nothing more then a match

Cool Ahhh...crap

Well I'm going to admittedly "revise" my suggested fix........

The 550 died on my oldest son last night while we we doing some yard work...............and stayed dead....

Had to tow'er back to the house. Had quite a "train" since both machines were hooked to trailers.....

But I had absolutely NO LUCK getting 'er to run. - NO codes though

Checked spark - OK
Checked plug condition - OK

When I cycled the run/stop to run the fuel pump it would "hummm" as normal. - OK

I proceeded to pull the new fuel filter and double check the pump actually pumps fuel - it does....but not very strong IMHP

Without the benefit of a fuel pressure tester (I'll borrow one today) I'm can't confirm/deny it's pumping the right PSI - which I honestly can't remember what it's supposed to be......40PSI I believe is average..

I then proceeded to pull the entire TBS system off....and clean. Pulled the injector and cleaned it too (for what it's worth)

So....if it's the pump....I found a replacement #0570-271 on EBAY, but I've never actually had to pull one out of the entire tank pick-up assembly

Not bad to R&R?
Or am I going to be using allot of colorful metaphors?

Sorry.....no "thread hi-jack" intended....

Thanks for the input.....but what I SHOULD have specified is after taking/removing the entire fuel pick-up assembly out of the tank....how hard is it to replace the actual pump portion of that assembly..... sorry 'bout that

Just unplug the connector and loosen clamp and slide off. Once loosen the clamp there may be a small plastic collar you will need to remove
